In Veyrines-de-Vergt (1 kms), a 13kms circuit of about 3h15mn, with no difficulties. On this circuit, you will cross the 45th parallel, an imaginary line indicating the latitude, that of one of the most well-favored regions of france, as shown by the cultivation of strawberries, half-way between the North Pole and the Equator. 30km south of Périgueux, starts from the church parking place, yellow markings.

The Périgord strawberry is cultivated on the wooded hillside of the Périgord, sheltered against bad weather under great tunnels, it is set in july so as to be picked up on the next Spring.The 10000 tons yielded every year by the 500 Dordogne producers make it the second french department, just after our Lot-et-Garonne neighbour; the Fraise du Périgord(Périgord Strawberry) is the only european strawberry patented with an official quality  label, the PGI (Protected Geographical identification ). This label warrants you, through a strict chart respected by all the producers, the best quality, as the image of the whole production of the Périgord soil. Finally the strawberry producers invite you to visit their farms so as to show you how, through daily efforts, they get to offer a strawberry that is the delight of the youngest and the oldest.

Périgueux

Prefecture of the Dordogne, this small 32000 inhabitants town will know how to seduce you with its byzantine cathedral (Saint Front),  its old renovated medieval town and its gallo-roman quarter where you'll have the possibility to visit the museum with the same name, built on excavations by the architect Jean Nouvel .

Bergerac

Bergerac is crossed by the Dordogne, one the the beautifulest rivers in France. Origin of the foundation of Bergerac, it first helped economy to finally serve tourism:strolls in gabare(flat bottom boats), angling, hikes along the Dordogne...
